Boys basketball:

Torrey Pines’ Palomar League winning streak won’t last forever. It just seems that way.

The Falcons extended their amazing run to 33 games with a 74-60 league win against Canyon Crest Academy on Feb. 19.

The Falcons, who’d already clinched their fourth consecutive league championship earlier in the month, completed their third consecutive unbeaten league season.

Jackson Strong scored 26 points to lead the Falcons.

Jack Heller and Dylan Bona each added 12 points and Jacob Gilliam contributed 10 points.

The Ravens held their own against the perennial league power, as Ryan Michaels and Daymian Vajda each scored 19 points.

The Falcons win followed a decisive 60-22 league victory over Mt. Carmel three days earlier in which Strong and Heller each scored 14 points and Strong added 10 points.

The Falcons improved to 10-0 in league and 23-4 overall for the season.

The Ravens were coming off a 63-61 loss to Rancho Bernardo, which finished second in league.

Vajda scored 17 points to lead the Ravens and Acosta added 15 points.

The Ravens fell to 4-6 in league and 14-14 overall for the season.

Cathedral Catholic bounced back from its first Western League loss of the season with a vengeance.

The Dons defeated Lincoln 86-45 on Feb. 19 in a league finale for both teams.

The victory secured the Dons sole possession of the league championship.

The Dons experienced what would be their only loss eight days earlier, 79-59 to Mission Bay.

Brandon McCoy led the Dons against Lincoln with 17 points and six rebounds.

Peter Xue and Austin Beech each added 12 points, and Reid Johnson contributed 11 points, six rebounds and five assists.

Cam Moore added 10 points and eight assists.

The Dons improved to 11-1 in league and 18-5 overall for the season.

San Diego Jewish Academy defeated Del Lago Academy 52-49 in an Ocean League game on Feb. 17.

Jordan Battaglia scored 16 points to lead the Lions.

Cody Brown and Eliot Muller added 14 and 11 points respectively.

The Lions improved to 7-1 in league and 15-11 overall for the season.

Girls basketball:

With sole possession of the Palomar League championship on the line, Torrey Pines left nothing to chance.

The Falcons defeated Canyon Crest Academy 71-50 in a league finale for both teams on Feb. 19.

Sierra Campisano scored 38 points and had 19 rebounds and 11 blocked shots to lead the Falcons.

Isabella Hoang and Rachel Chen added 13 and nine points, respectively.

The victory followed a 53-42 league win against Mt. Carmel on Feb. 16 in which Campisano scored 24 points and had 16 rebounds and five blocked shots.

The Falcons improved to 9-1 in league and 21-6 overall for the season.

La Costa Canyon had already clinched sole possession of the Avocado League West championship by the time it went up against Carlsbad in a regular season finale for both teams on Feb. 18.

But the Mavericks weren’t about to take their feet off the gas.

They wrapped up league play with a 69-62 victory.

Alexis Machain, Jessica Curtis and Colleen Haggerty each scored 18 points to lead the Mavericks.

The victory followed a 70-54 league win against Vista the previous day that clinched the title in which Machain scored 24 points to lead the Mavericks.

Cassie Amundson added 16 points and Kaylee Berry and Curtis contributed 12 and 10 points, respectively.

The Mavericks improved to 9-1 in league and 20-8 overall for the season.

Cathedral Catholic lost to Lincoln 64-55 in a Western League game on Feb. 19.

Alaina Alvarez scored 20 points in defeat for the Dons and Kaylee Stiffler and Skyler Pierce each added eight points.

The Dons fell to 5-7 in league and 7-18 overall for the season.

San Dieguito Academy lost to Del Norte 51-34 in an Avocado League East game on Feb. 19.

Claire Pupping scored 11 points in defeat for the Mustangs and Jessica Morilak added nine points.

Emma Schneir contributed four points and 11 rebounds.

The Mustangs fell to 2-8 in league and 8-14 overall for the season.

Girls soccer:

Cathedral Catholic wrapped up a perfect Western League season with a 3-0 victory over Patrick Henry on Feb. 18.

Emily Knepler scored two goals to lead the Dons and Madison Mercado scored one goal and had one assist.

Dons goalies Erin Kelly and Emily Sanchez combined for the shutout.

The Dons improved to 8-0 in league and 20-3-3 overall for the season.

Torrey Pines played a plucky Canyon Crest Academy team to a scoreless tie in a Palomar League finale for both teams on Feb. 18, and that was enough for the Falcons to secure a league championship.

The Falcons two days earlier defeated Mt. Carmel 4-0.

Daniela Nelson scored one goal and had one assist to lead the Falcons.

Jessica Wright, Katie Dove and Grace Vonstrahl each contributed one goal.

Falcons goalie Alexa Hozouri was credited with the shutout.

The Falcons improved to 7-1-2 in league and 13-1-5 overall for the season.
