Boys basketball:
The Palomar League championship is no longer in question.
Now it’s just a matter of whether they can close a third consecutive perfect league campaign.
The Falcons clinched the title with a decisive 71-57 victory over Rancho Bernardo on Feb. 12.
The victory was their 31th straight league win going back to Feb. 6, 2013.
Jack Heller, Jackson Strong and Jacob Gilliam each scored 14 points to lead the Falcons and Dylan Bona added 13 points.
Gilliam also had 10 rebounds and Bona contributed five assists and two steals.
The victory followed a 72-23 league win against Westview on Feb. 9 in which Heller led the Falcons with 29 points and Strong added 14 points.
The Falcons improved to 8-0 in league and 21-4.
Cathedral Catholic has already clinched at least a share of the Western League title, but the Dons are no longer perfect.
They experienced their first league loss on Feb. 11, 79-59 to Mission Bay.
Austin Beech led the Dons with 19 points and Reid Johnson added 13 points. Brandon McCoy contributed 11 points.
The loss followed a 58-44 league win against Scripps Ranch on Feb. 9 in which McCoy led the Dons with 22 points and Johnson added 16 points.
The Dons fell to 10-1 in league and 17-5 overall for the season.
San Diego Jewish Academy had its six-game winning streak snapped as the Lions lost to Tri-City Christian 53-50 in nonleague game on Feb. 10.
Cody Brown scored 12 points and Elliot Muller and Jordan Battaglia added 11 and 10 points, respectively.
The loss followed a 65-55 Ocean League victory over Classical Academy in which Brown scored 21 points to lead the Lions and Sam Deverett and Muller added 15 and 10 points, respectively.
The Lions improved to 6-1 in league and 14-10 overall for the season.
Girls basketball:
La Costa Canyon defeated Rancho Buena Vista 65-44 in an Avocado League West game on Feb. 12.
Jessica Curtis scored 28 points to lead the Mavericks and Cassie Amundson added 14 points.
The Mavericks improved to 7-1 in league and 18-8 overall for the season.
Cathedral Catholic defeated Mission Bay 40-33 in a Palomar League game on Feb. 11.
Rose Smedley scored 12 points and had 10 rebounds and five blocked shots to lead the Dons. Kaylee Stiffler added 10 points, 13 rebounds and six blocked shots.
The victory followed a 53-33 league loss to Scripps Ranch on Feb. 9 in which Smedley and Stiffler each scored 11 points to lead the Dons.
The Dons improved to 5-6 in league and 7-17 overall for the season.
Girls soccer:
La Costa Canyon defeated Rancho Buena Vista 3-0 in an Avocado League West game on Feb. 12.
Hayley Mayne scored three goals to lead the Mavericks.
Karlee Davey, Kelsey Aaknes and Danielle Goad each contributed one assist.
The victory followed a 4-1 league win against El Camino in which Capri Goldsmith scored two goals to lead the Mavericks and Mayne added one goal and one assist.
The Mavericks improved to 8-0 in league and 14-2-4 overall for the season.
Torrey Pines moved into sole possession of first place with a 1-0 victory over Rancho Bernardo in a Palomar League game on Feb. 11.
Katie Dove scored the game’s only goal to lead the Falcons.
Falcons goalies Sherrie Antoun and Alexa Hozouri combined for the shutout. Antoun had four saves and Hozouri had two saves.
The victory followed a 6-0 win against Westview two days earlier.
Amber McCorkle scored three goals to lead the Falcons and Daniela Nelson added one goal and one assist.
Reese Billington and Grace Vonstrahl each contributed one goal and Callie Petrey-Juarez added two assists.
Antoun (six saves) and Hozouri (two saves) combined for the shutout.
The Falcons improved to 6-1-1 in league and 12-1-4 overall for the season.

The victory was the Dons seventh straight as they remained unbeaten in league.
Sunny Dunphy scored two goals and had one assist to lead the Dons.
Taylor Sparks and Dana Dalton each scored one goal and had one assist and Madison Mercado added one assist.
Dons goalies Kelli McCarthy and Emily Sanchez combined for the shutout.
The victory followed a 3-1 win against Point Loma three days earlier in which Bianca Caetano scored one goal and one assist to lead the Dons.
Mercado and Dalton each contributed one goal and Olivia Erlbeck and Katya Pourteymour each added one assist.
McCarthy was credited with the shutout.The Dons improved to 6-0 in league and 18-3-3 overall for the season.
