Traffic collision knocks out power to parts of Rancho Santa Fe
On Friday, Sept. 5, at 8:22 p.m., firefighters from the Rancho Santa Fe Fire Protection District (RSFFPD) and Encinitas Fire Department responded to the report of a traffic collision in the 1700 block of Via de Fortuna.
When they arrived on the scene, rescue crews found a black sedan had collided into a utility pole, shearing it off at the base and cutting off power to the surrounding area. The vehicle sustained damage but the driver was uninjured. There were no other passengers. SDG&E was able to repair the pole and restore power to the area by mid-day on Saturday.
