Traffic collision in Rancho Santa Fe send one to hospital with major injuries

On Wednesday, April 1, at 9:26 p.m., firefighters from the Rancho Santa Fe Fire Protection District responded to the report of a traffic collision on Via De La Valle between La Gracia and Calzada Del Bosque.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a Subaru hatchback had gone off the road and hit a tree, sustaining major damage. The driver, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, sustained major injuries and was transported to Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla in critical condition.

Via De La Valle was closed between La Gracia and Calzada Del Bosque. While emergency crews worked to assist the patient and clear the incident scene. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the collision.
