Rancho Santa Fe Toastmasters President Patrick Crais wins speech contest

Share

Patrick Crais, president of Rancho Santa Fe Toastmasters, has been honing his speaking skills for the past few years and has achieved the requirement of Competent Communicator and Competent Leader within Toastmasters International.

Crais competed against three other Competent Communicators in the first round of speaking contests being held in the San Diego area.

Each year in early March, Toastmasters International kicks off speech contests within local area clubs. Those winners of the Northern Division’s local contest then move to the semi-final and final contests which will begin Saturday, April 28. This year’s contests are being held at the beautiful AMN Healthcare Building, 12400 High Bluff Drive, San Diego, 92130.

Contests begin at 8 a.m. and several speaking events take place during the day. Club members and visitors are invited to attend ($5 entry fee) and refreshments are served. Parking is free and ample seating is available.

This contest is a worldwide event. All TM districts (we are District 5) in the United States and around the world will send their finalists to Orlando, Fla., this summer to compete for World Championship titles in various categories.

Toastmasters International meets each Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. (promptly) for one hour at the Rancho Santa Fe Community Center, 5970 La Sendita, Rancho Santa Fe, 92067.
