Rancho Santa Fe Review writers win more national awards

reporters Marsha Sutton and Karen Billing recently won awards at the national IFPA (Independent Free Newspapers Association) journalism competition held in Nashville, Tenn.Reporter and columnist Marsha Sutton won first place in the news story division for her story titled “TPHS student convicted of drunk driving speaks out.” Sutton also won second place in the editorial writing division for her column on “Teens and alcohol.”
Reporter Karen Billing won third place in the feature division for her story about Torrey Pines High School student Jeremy Sicile-Kira, titled “Inspirational autistic TPHS student graduates, to deliver a commencement speech.”
This newspaper and its writers have won numerous local, regional and national awards over the years, including three national General Excellence awards.
