Rancho Santa Fe resident Phil Mickelson wins British Open

Rancho Santa Fe resident Phil Mickelson won the British Open today, July 21, capturing his fifth major golf title.

Mickelson came into the day in eighth place and worked his way up to finish in first place with a five-under 66 at Muirfield Golf Club in Scotland.

Henrik Stenson finished second at even par, three strokes behind Mickelson.
