There are two beautiful gardens in Newport Beach, in Orange County, that love to “put on the Ritz” when it comes to the Holidays. Roger’s Gardens, with all its “garden rooms,” displays and plant material is always an enjoyable experience but at this time of the year it is spectacular. There is definitely an aura of “Holiday Magic” throughout the grounds. The themed trees are glittering, glitzy, whimsical and beautiful from the tip-top to the packages under the lowest boughs. The multi colored Poinsettias. Amaryllis and other holiday flowers are combined with a variety of plants and make for unique and impressive displays. Down the street on the busy Coast Highway is a secret botanical garden that is tucked away providing beauty and serenity. From the Koi pond to the succulent gardens, and everything in between, the gardens offer wonderful exhibits of western gardening. Strolling around Sherman Gardens is always a delightful experience but when it is decorated for the holidays it is even more beautiful and certainly “magical.” On Friday, Nov. 19, the Garden Club will sponsor a bus trip to these two gardens to experience “Holiday Magic.” The bus will leave The Garden Club at 9:30 a.m. and return to the club at 4:30-5 p.m., lunch at “Jardin Café”in the center of Sherman Gardens will be no-host. The cost for this delightful excursion is $45 per person, which includes transportation and admission.
