Rancho Santa Fe firefighters respond to vegetation fire in 4S Ranch
On Nov. 9, at 4:30 p.m., firefighters from the Rancho Santa Fe Fire Protection District (RSFFPD), along with firefighters from the city of San Diego, Enicintas, and Cal-Fire, responded to a reported vegetation fire near Old Course Road and Maranatha Drive in 4S Ranch. When they arrived on the scene, firefighters reported a 4-acre vegetation fire underneath the power lines just north of Maranatha Christian School.
The fire was pushed by 15 mph Santa Ana winds and was contained approximately 30 minutes at 5-8 acres. The school was not directly threatened, but they did evacuate the campus as a precaution. A sewer treatment facility was threatened briefly, but firefighters were able to protect the structure. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
