Rancho Santa Fe Fire District to hold forum

Share

Smoke alarms and residential fire sprinklers are important tools in keeping families safe during a house fire. Smoke alarms alert individuals to the threat of fire while fire sprinklers, by slowing the rate of spread of the fire, provide individuals with more time to safely exit the home. In order for the system to work properly, however, it must be maintained.

The Rancho Santa Fe Fire Protection District (RSFFPD) will conduct a presentation to help community members understand their home fire protection system, including home fire sprinklers, and the proper way to maintain it. The forum, which is open to all residents of the RSFFPD, will be held on Tuesday, April 30, at 6:30 p.m. at the San Diego County 4S Ranch Library, 10433 Reserve Dr, in 4S Ranch. Those interested in attending are asked to RSVP to Julie Taber, 858-756-6008 or taber@rsf-fire.org

The presentation is an extension of an educational packet and website, funded in part through a grant from The 4S Ranch - Del Sur Community Foundation. Free of charge, each packet includes a brochure and CD-ROM which outline steps homeowners can take to ensure their system is working properly. The presentation will cover the material included in the packets, which are available at each of the RSFFPD’s four fire stations and the administrative office. They will also be available at the presentation. In addition, the information may be obtained online at www.rsf-fire.org/sprinklers/index.html.
