Rancho Santa Fe Bank of America robbed
Two suspected bank robbers were arrested Friday, shortly after making off with cash from a Rancho Santa Fe bank, a sheriff’s sergeant said.
The robbery at the Bank of America branch on Avenida de Acacias was reported shortly before 12:30 p.m., sheriff’s Sgt. Robin Lawrence said. The thieves, one of whom waited outside in a vehicle, fled with an undisclosed amount of money.
A short time later, deputies spotted a car matching the description of the getaway vehicle and pulled it over.
After questioning the occupants, a man and and woman, deputies arrested both on suspicion of bank robbery, Lawrence said. Their names were not immediately available.
The stolen money was recovered from the suspects’ vehicle, Lawrence said.
