Rancho Santa Fe Association files liens on severely delinquent properties
By Karen Billing
The Rancho Santa Fe Association approved Sept. 6 the judicial filing of nine liens on severely delinquent property owners, the first step in the foreclosure process. With this filing, the parcel numbers will be made a part of the public record.
“This is a pretty aggressive step for us,” said RSF Association Manager Pete Smith.
Severe uncollectable accounts have been a fairly recent problem for the Association, with $326,000 worth of delinquencies in the last four to five years. The finance committee continues to look at the possibility of posting names and addresses in addition to the suspension of privileges and lien placement.
