Fairbanks Republican Women Stand Up for Women
More than 100 citizens gathered Oct. 20 at the Fairbanks Country Club to “Stand Up for Women — End Violence, Exploitation and Oppression,” an event hosted by the Fairbanks Republican Women Federated. Mistress of ceremonies was Carol Lebeau, a 28-year veteran at San Diego’s Channel 10, KGTV and part of the longest-running female news anchor team in the country. Featured speakers included Marina Nemat, author of a national bestseller; Fary Moini, a Rotary volunteer with refugees in Pakistan and Afghanistan since 2002; and Anne K. Ream, a Chicago-Based writer and activist and founder of the Voices and Faces Project. Photos: Jon Clark
