Everyone was a winner!

The Susan G. Komen Charity Golf Tournament was washed out but everyone was a winner. The weather put a damper on the play that day but it did not dampen the spirit of everyone who participated in the event.

More than $20,000 was raised for this important cause, beginning with the sale of over 450 pink duckies for the raffle. Members of the Rotary Club of Rancho Santa Fe purchased a large number of the little pink ducks. Rotarian member Duncan Newman was one of the winners and was kind enough to ”re-donate” and give his winnings back to the committee. The ducks brought in $3,710.

At the evening cocktail hour participants mingled and bid on silent auction items. The many wonderful packages that were offered added to the excitement of the evening. One of the most popular items up for bid was a special Poker Lesson Party for 12 ladies which netted $1,200.

Big thanks go out to the event’s seven corporate sponsors: Home Federal, John Sacks Family, California Bank and Trust, Considine and Considine, The Vigil Family, The Hamerslag Family and Across Town Movers. Thank you to everyone involved that participated in this worthy event.
