Chanukah crafts at Rancho Santa Fe Library
Chabad Jewish Center of Rancho Santa Fe hosted a Chanukah craft event at the Rancho Santa Fe Library on Dec. 15. Rabbi Levi Raskin led the children in making candles, with blue and white beeswax from Knorr Candle Factory. The students watched a video about menorahs and were read a book about Chanukah and potato latkes. Each child also received a gift of gelt, chocolate coins that are a traditional Chanukah treat.
Raskin explained that lighting a small candle can bring a lot of light to a dark room — he told the children to always remember a small act of kindness can brighten someone’s day.
