On Nov. 4, at approximately 6:40 a.m., someone broke into Rancho Santa Fe Fire Protection District Station 2. The suspect entered a dorm room assigned to a San Diego Medical Services paramedic and stole the keys to the ambulance assigned to the station, as well as the ambulance pager.

The Sheriff’s Department was immediately notified and the incident is under investigation. Another ambulance was moved to Station 2, ensuring there would not be any interruption in providing emergency services to the members of the community.

“We are taking this incident very seriously,” said Battalion Chief Mike Gibbs. “The safety of the community and our personnel is our priority. We are cooperating fully with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department as they continue to investigate the incident and will do everything we can to prevent this from occurring in the future.”
