Angel Faces benefit held in Rancho Santa Fe
Three girls (ages 15-17) who suffered serious burns to over 65 percent of their body from three separate horrific accidents came to San Diego from throughout the United States for a special presentation/dinner/fundraiser at the Rancho Santa Fe home of Ray and Christine Yuen on Oct. 2.
Larisa, Rachel and Bethany are recent participants in the Angel Faces program. They have overcome severe injuries and spoke passionately about their journey and Angel Faces during the evening’s program. Angel Faces, founder and director Lesia Cartelli, a San Diego resident who also suffered severe burns over 50 percent of her face and body from a natural gas explosion at the age of 9, launched the organization in 2003. The goal of Angel Faces is to “offer both a physical and emotional transformation so each girl walks out with a new confidence and a hopeful outlook toward the future.” For more information, visit
