Victim's wallet stolen at gunpoint in daytime robbery

A bald man in a red hoodie held up a pedestrian at gunpoint in Mountain View in a late morning heist, San Diego police said.

Shortly before 10 a.m., a person was walking in the area of San Miguel Avenue and Franklin Avenue, a residential neighborhood north of Ocean View Boulevard, when a man came up behind him, Sgt. Michael Stirk said.

The thief, who had a black revolver, made off with the victim’s wallet, Stirk said.

The robber was described as a Latino man, roughly 5-feet, 9-inches tall, with a bald head and a mustache. He had a medium build and wore a red hooded sweatshirt and red shorts, the officer said.
