31st Annual Silver Tea raises $120,000 to help local child abuse prevention programs
St. Germaine Children’s Charity hosted the 31st Annual Silver Tea Dec. 9 at a private estate in La Jolla. During the three hours, members of St. Germaine’s Silver Tea Committee welcomed 430 volunteers and guests to tour the traditional California-style home decorated in holiday trim, enjoyed tea sandwiches, cookies and refreshments and bid on more than 70 auction items. Ticket sales, donations and the auction raised almost $120,000. All proceeds from this event will be donated to local child abuse prevention programs selected as St. Germaine’s 2015 Grant Recipients.
St. Germaine Children’s Charity 2014 grant recipients were: Angels Foster Family Network, Armed Services YMCA San Diego, Aseltine School, Association for Human-Animal Bond Studies, Casa de Amparo, Hannah’s House, New Haven Youth & Family Services, San Diego Police Foundation, SAY San Diego Healthy Start Military Family Resource Center, St. Vincent de Paul, STAR/PAL, The Children’s Initiative and Walden Family Services.
