Future Legends Scholarship program is exploding with success! Founded in 2012 the program has a 100 percent graduation success in a range of very challenging majors, including bio-chemistry, chemistry, computer sciences, pre-med, and sports management. The organization has been operating as a stand-alone 501(c)3 nonprofit organization since 2016.

Mentors are assigned to each of the Future Legends Scholars and they are an integral part of the success of the Future Legends program. Designed to support the scholars ongoing needs and to support their best possible outcome, the Mentorship Program creates an ongoing relationship with the scholars to nurture them throughout their studies and well into the future. The mentors are individuals who have all demonstrated successful careers in their own right. The scholars have been so responsive and appreciative of the mentoring support and the all-inclusive features of the program that the first graduate, Steven Sakara, initiated an Ambassador Program, connecting Future Legend graduates with current scholars, thus lending support to the mentor program.

The mentoring program has added in other ways as well; for example, recognizing that the graduates might not have appropriate business attire for career interviews their senior year, it was suggested that a clothing allowance be added. This year webinars will be made available teaching resume writing and more. In-person classes will also be implemented teaching social etiquettes and courtesies, thank you notes following job interviews, table manners, and so much more.

The Rancho Santa Fe Rotary Club recognized the value and success of the Future Legends comprehensive program and wanted to join the unwavering commitment of the founders, board and dedicated volunteers. Rotary started with smaller commitments but on July 12 this year, the recently installed President, Michael Taylor, officially announced that the Rotary Club of Rancho Santa Fe was joining Future Legends with a unique partnership to further efforts to make Future Legends the gold standard of the finest mentoring and financial aid program in the country serving and shaping the next generation of leaders. “Helping deserving students further their education and life experiences is a rewarding way to put ‘service above self’ and personally feel the power of ‘paying it forward.’”
