The Helen Woodward Animal Center honored some very special students at the 2018 Therapeutic Riding Show June 30. The annual event invites parents, friends and family members to gather in the center’s Riding Arena for a performance of newly-developed equine skills demonstrated by Therapeutic Riding students, who receive ribbons for their accomplishments. The newly created course, themed “A Summer Road Trip,” had students navigate along “Route 66,” weaving around the “Statue of Liberty,” trotting around the “Lincoln Memorial,” visiting “Mount Rushmore, and crossing the “Golden Gate Bridge.”

Helen Woodward Animal Center’s Therapeutic Riding Program was established in 1983 and was developed to assist children and adults with a variety of special needs from cerebral palsy, to Down’s syndrome and autism, to stroke recovery and learning disabilities. Visit animalcenter.org
