RSF resident honored at Nice Guy of the Year Gala

The Nice Guys, a local nonprofit 501(c)3 organization, honored Rancho Santa Fe resident Debra Reed at its 39th annual major fundraising gala Oct. 27 at the Manchester Grand Hyatt. Each year, the Nice Guys recognize someone who has given their time, money and support to help San Diegans improve their lives.

Reed is executive chairman of Sempra Energy, a San Diego-based Fortune 500 energy services holding company with the largest customer base in the U.S.

In San Diego, Reed currently serves on the Rady Children’s Hospital and Health Center Board of Trustees, Rady Children’s Hospital – San Diego Board of Directors, and on the Chairman’s Competitiveness Council of the San Diego Regional Economic Development Corporation, where she formerly served as chair. The Nice Guy of the Year event is also a fundraiser for San Diego Nice Guys charities. The funds will be used for individual San Diegans who need a “one time” helping hand up to get their lives back on track.
