RSF Historical Society holds unique history lesson event for Rowe students

Share

On March 22 and March 23, the RSF Historical Society presented 70 R. Roger Rowe third grade students with a hands-on approach to the history of Rancho Santa Fe. Docents met with students at their school and walked them to various historic points in the village, where they received a lesson and treats that related to the location.

At one point the students visited with “Colonel Ed Fletcher” and were able to ask him questions about his involvement in the development of the community. The tour ended at La Flecha House, the home of the RSF Historical Society, with docents giving more information using both photos and activities that helped the children, their parents and teachers, become more involved with the history of Rancho Santa Fe.

This third grade program is available to all schools in the local area and will be presented to each school as schedules allow. For more information, contact the Rancho Santa Fe Historical Society at 858-756-9291. Visit www.rsfhs.org
