Future Legends celebrates scholars

A close but large group of strong supporters of Future Legends Scholarship Fund gathered July 21 at the home of Mary Ann and Vearl Smith to celebrate the scholars and their mentors who offer valuable support and guidance to these students. Those who attended the event included the founding Scholarship members, Pro Kids (First Tee of S.D.) and Selection Committee participants, many Rotarians and members of the RSF Golf Club.

The Future Legends scholars have enjoyed great success due in part to the mentoring program, but also from the gift certificates and shopping spree with a personal shopper provided by Nordstrom for school clothing and interview outfits for the seniors. The newest benefit for a Future Legends Scholar is the “Steps to Success” program combining in-person meetings with online courses that will teach valuable lessons ranging from writing resumes to social etiquette skills.
