Sports update for Rancho Santa Fe

Torrey Pines defeated Francis Parker 62-51 in a Martin Luther King Exhibition game on Jan. 20.

Brandon Cyrus scored 14 points to lead the Falcons and Dominic Hovasse and Jack Beach each added 13 points.

Sam Worman contributed 11 points.

Rancho Santa Fe sports update

Torrey Pines played San Pasqual to a 1-1 tie in a nonleague game on Jan. 10.

The Falcons defeated La Costa Canyon 4-2 two days earlier.

Austin Nicholson scored the Falcons only goal in the San Pasqual game off assists from Uri Bialostozky and Eren Esener.

The Falcons went 4-0 in the tournament, winning all their games by double-digit margins.

Sophomore standout Sierra Campisano scored 29 points and had seven rebounds to lead the Falcons in the Fallbrook game.

Torrey Pines defeated Poway in a Kiwanis tournament game on Dec. 21.

Sierra Campisano scored 21 points and had 11 rebounds to lead the Falcons and Madison Lombard added 14 points.

Campisano also had four steals and four blocks and Lombard contributed six steals and four assists.

The Falcons opened the Kiwanis tournament with two decisive victories; 64-46 against Helix on Dec. 18 and 82-48 over Madison the next day.

Santa Fe Christian opened the Wolfpack-Horseman Tournament with a resounding 64-34 victory over Oceanside in a on Dec. 3.

The Bishop’s School Boys Varsity Basketball Team wins the Firebird Tip Off Tournament

The Bishop’s Boys Varsity Basketball team won the Firebird Tip Off Tournament in Carlsbad recently. The Knights were undefeated in the tournament, scoring a total of 307 points while only giving up 222.

Rancho Santa Fe sports update

The Dons have won state section titles in six of the last seven years.  They’d won their previous five in Division III from 2007 to 2011, but were ineligible for the playoffs last year after forfeiting their eight regular season victories for using an ineligible player.

Rancho Santa Fe Weekly Sports Update

Torrey Pines defeated Cathedral Catholic 3-0 (25-9, 25-17, 25-16) in an Open Division quarterfinal match on Nov. 16.

Reily Buechler had 15 kills to lead the Falcons and Savannah Rennie added 12 kills.

Rancho Santa Fe sports update

Santa Fe Christian lost to Parker 38-22 on Nov. 8 in a game that determined the Coastal League championship.

The Eagles fell to 3-1 in league and 6-4 overall for the season.

Tony Miro rushed for 85 yards on 11 carries and quarterback Carter Roberts completed six of 14 pass attempts for 121 yards with one touchdown and one interception.
