Rancho Santa Fe musician launches new concert series

The Encinitas Library was transformed into a concert hall Feb. 22. It was the first concert of a new series called “Virtuoso.”

“People will see and hear fabulous musicians during this series,” said Michael Tseitlin, artistic director and founder of Virtuoso.

An accomplished musician, the Rancho Santa Fe resident wanted to launch a series closer to home.

FanFaire Foundation to present ‘From Paris To You’ at Rancho Santa Fe Village Church Chapel

The Paris-based piano and viola duo of Zachary Deak and Virginie D’Avezac De Castera will perform a free program of music by Schubert, Schumann, Brahms and Clarke at the Village Church Chapel in RSF at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24. The performance is part of FanFaire Foundation’s Free Family Concerts Series, presented in collaboration with The Village Church Concert Committee. Classical pianist Umi Garrett to perform at special Community Concerts of Rancho Santa Fe event

Tickets are on sale now for international piano prodigy Umi Garrett. Umi will be performing April 27 at 3 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center at R. Roger Rowe Middle School. Community Concerts normally has a four-concert series but the opportunity to bring Umi Garrett to Rancho Santa Fe was too good to resist.

Locust Street Taxi to perform at Community Concerts of Rancho Santa Fe event

The third Community Concerts of Rancho Santa Fe performance of the season, featuring Locust Street Taxi, will be held on Friday, Feb. 28, at the recently renovated Village Church Fellowship Hall, 6225 Paseo Delicias, Rancho Santa Fe.

The Community Outreach program is a vital part of Community Concerts of Rancho Santa Fe’s service to Rancho Santa Fe and surrounding areas. The afternoon prior to their evening concert at Fellowship Hall, the members of The Jesse Lynch Trio performed at the R. Roger Rowe Middle School, giving the children a taste of good jazz and skilled musicians, with a little musical education thrown in for good measure.
