Fourth grade students at Solana Santa Fe Elementary School participated in the Walk Through California in-school field trip on Oct. 7. Presenter Kelli Rogers used storytelling, games and music in a lively retelling of Calfornia’s history. The two-and-a-half-hour program, created by the Tustin-based company California Weekly Explorer, focused on major events that shaped California. Students dressed up as miners, missionaries, Native Americans and in other costumes related to California’s history. Each was also responsible for learning a specific vocabulary word pertaining to the curriculum.
